Bimonthly Newsletter
Greetings!
As you can see, my bimonthly letter became a biannual newsletter. I believe I've found my rhythm again, lets get back to bimonthly.
So, what' new? To begin, the prequel to Treasure In A Field, which started out as a novella, is becoming a novel. I've some ideas about incorporating it into book II of the trilogy. We'll see how that plays out going forward.
However, the prequel has my full attention and, thanks to my son's help, is outlined in my head, and continues to develop on the written page each week. My location in the book this week, the Fringe, where King Francis, finding himself at the end of anything he can do, meets a Korrick Contemplative, maybe his only chance of ever finding Inklesmor.
I'm extremely excited to share this story with you! Thank you for your patience!
In other news, I'm currently outlining a spirituality book, based on my rule and time spent with the Benedictine sisters and 17 pastors during a year long cohort with the Center for Clergy Renewal at Holy Wisdom Monastery in Madison, WI. I plan to share some excerpts throughout the writing process. The plan is to have this ready for publishing summer 2025.
Also, I've had a couple of poems published in Wisconsin Creative Magazine. I've included one below, which will also be found in the spirituality book.
Books I recommend and/or are reading? Dark Water Daughter by H.M. Long, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin, Christian Meditation, by James Finley, Native by Kaitlin B. Curtis. Happy reading!
Peace to you,
J. Ellis Blaise
